NEW YORK, NY, UNITED STATES, August 31, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Artificial intelligence is rapidly becoming standard equipment across construction. Jagroop Bhumber, founder of Rifmont Group, is betting that access to AI itself will eventually matter far less than the information behind it.

Rifmont Group, a Vancouver and New York-based development, infrastructure and advisory group, is developing a private AI environment designed around construction intelligence accumulated from real-world projects.

Few details have been disclosed.

The system is intended to connect information across estimating, procurement, permitting, project sequencing, historical costs and execution data. Rather than creating another commercial AI platform, the objective is an internal intelligence layer built around proprietary information and operating experience.

“Artificial intelligence itself will eventually become universal. The competitive advantage will come from systems trained on proprietary information unavailable to the broader market,” Bhumber said.

As previously reported by The New York Journal, Rifmont Group has outlined plans to deploy up to $10 million across real estate, development and infrastructure. Artificial intelligence is expected to play a role in that strategy, with capital potentially directed toward private computing infrastructure, proprietary datasets and specialized technical talent.

The potential applications range from procurement and permitting analysis to identifying cost anomalies and execution risks before significant capital is committed.

Exactly how the system is being constructed remains undisclosed. Rifmont Group has released little regarding its architecture, training methodology or the scale of the information being assembled.

That discretion appears intentional.

“The objective isn’t to build technology for the market. It is to build technology capable of competing with the market,” Bhumber said.

As powerful AI models become increasingly accessible, the competitive moat may shift away from the models themselves. Proprietary project histories, specialized datasets and accumulated operating intelligence remain considerably harder to replicate.

For Jagroop Bhumber and Rifmont Group, keeping that intelligence private may be precisely where its value lies.

The most valuable AI in construction may not be the system with the most users.

It may be the one that never reaches the market.
