SAN JOSE, CA, UNITED STATES, October 23, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Volunteers from Bank of America, NVIDIA, Accenture, Wells Fargo, Twilio, Cadence Design Systems, and ServiceNow joined community partners across San José to restore public spaces, plant trees, and refresh a local high school.

Goodera, in partnership with the City of San José and the Office of Mayor Matt Mahan, brought corporate volunteers together on October 15 for a citywide Day of Service focused on giving back to the community they call home.

Across project sites, volunteers from Bank of America, NVIDIA, Accenture, Wells Fargo, Twilio, Cadence Design Systems, and ServiceNow came together to improve shared spaces and support their local community. From planting trees and refreshing public spaces to improving school grounds, volunteers spent the day making a difference in the places where San José residents live, work, and come together.

Volunteers worked across neighborhood sites on projects designed to care for the city's public spaces and community landmarks.
Activities included:
Refreshing Discovery Meadow Park: Volunteers picked up litter, refurbished a children’s footbridge, and planted daffodils.
Restoring tree cover: In partnership with Our City Forest, volunteers worked to support greener public spaces through tree planting and native shrub restoration.
Improving Abraham Lincoln High School: Volunteers joined school staff to help refresh school spaces and support the campus community.

Together, these projects allowed employees to step outside their usual workday, connect with colleagues, and contribute to the city they call home.

“Volunteering in San José warms my heart in the deepest degree,” shared volunteers from a Fortune 500 company. “It’s great to be able to give back and connect with colleagues in a different environment outside of work.”

For many volunteers, the day offered a chance to give back to the community and see the difference a few hours of collective effort can make.

“Our valley is home to incredible talent, and we’re thrilled to partner with Goodera to channel that energy into beautifying our city. We hope this Day of Service becomes more than a single day — inspiring people to make giving back to San José a lasting part of how they contribute to the community they call home.”
Matt Mahan, Mayor, City of San José

The San José Day of Service is part of Goodera's broader commitment to bringing people together to care for the places they call home. In partnership with local governments, nonprofits, and corporate teams, Goodera plans to bring Days of Service to more cities around the world, creating opportunities for employees to contribute to their communities through shared action.

The initiative also marks the beginning of a series of community-focused activities leading up to San José's upcoming anniversary, creating more opportunities for residents and corporate teams to take part in the city's future.

“Days like this show what can happen when companies listen to local partners and show up for the places their employees call home. We’re grateful to the City of San José, Our City Forest, and Abraham Lincoln High School for helping shape work that matters here. We hope to bring this kind of shared service to more cities.”
Abhishek Humbad, CEO, Goodera

By bringing companies and community partners together around local needs, Goodera hopes to make volunteering a more regular part of how people connect with and contribute to their communities.
